Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu Visits Srinagar Border Haat: Focus on Mutual Relations and Border Market Success

Agartala, 9th July 2024:   Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu visited the sole border haat at the Srinagar border in Sabroom sub-division under South Tripura district. The visit took place on Tuesday morning at 11:30 am. During his visit, Governor Reddy engaged with various traders from India, including fishmongers, dry cleaners, and locally produced vegetable vendors. Notably, he also held discussions with the Additional District Commissioner (ADC) of Feni district in Bangladesh.

Speaking to reporters, Governor Dr. Indrasena Reddy praised the border haat, describing it as “very beautiful and tidy.” He expressed his best wishes for the overall success of the border market and emphasized the need to strengthen mutual relations between the people of India and Bangladesh.

Responding to journalists’ inquiries about the torn wire fences in several places in Border Haat, Governor Reddy assured that he would address this issue. The Srinagar border hut was inaugurated on January 13, 2015, and its significance continues to grow.

During his arrival at the border gate, the police administration of Sabroom and the Indian Border Security Force took special precautions to ensure Governor Dr. Indra Sena Reddy Nallu’s safety. Additionally, security arrangements were heightened in the border villages to facilitate the visit.

This visit underscores the importance of cross-border interactions and cooperation, promoting goodwill between neighboring countries. Governor Nallu’s engagement with traders and officials reflects the commitment to fostering positive relations and addressing practical challenges at the border.
