Agartala: November 08. International Health Coverage Day program is being observed across the country from October 12 to December 12. As part of this, the state government has decided to create Ayushman Bharat Health Account ID or ABHA number in the state.
Speaking to media persons here today, DM of West Tripura district Debapriya Bardhan said that the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission was launched on September 27, 2021 under the management of National Health Mission to strengthen information management through digital means in the health system of the country. Through this mission, necessary measures have been developed to strengthen the integrated digital health infrastructure of the country. It allows connecting with various health care providers through the ecosystem of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission is planned to improve the efficiency of the country’s health system.
The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission process includes registration of various health institutions and health service providers in the project’s digital infrastructure, which is a necessary step in digital connectivity of health services. Another very important aspect of this mission is the Ayushman Bharat Health Account Number or ABHA number, he added.
Bardhan said that the Ayushman Bharat Health Account Number or ABHA number is a 14 digit personal health ID. In this ID, every citizen of the country can store their health information digitally and can use that information as per the need. There are two methods of generating shade numbers. One is that people can create their own Aadhar number or unique health ID by going to Aadhar app and using their own Aadhar number and Aadhar link mobile number. Or you can generate ABHA number in any hospital of the country with the help of any government or private hospital and health and wellness center.
Sharing the facilities, DM said that this ID will help the patient to get various health related services from the healthcare provider from hospitalization to discharge without any paperwork hassle. Patients will be able to exchange their admission, treatment and discharge all in a paperless manner that will provide a digital continuum in the treatment process. It will facilitate people’s communication with health care providers. This health account will help people to get their lab reports, prescriptions etc digitally from the health care providers through ABHA number.
Using ABHA number is the first step in creating a secure and digital health record for any patient and their family. With this unique health ID, the patient has no fear of losing old medical reports. The same place has all the patient’s medical reports, so the patient can get an accurate diagnosis. Through this ABHA number, people will be able to digitally search for healthcare providers which will make healthcare delivery more sustainable. No more waiting in long queues of listed stories or private hospitals anywhere in the country. ABHA number also ensures that the right medical information is available in an accurate manner.
