Govt decides to hike honorarium of SPOs, six Asst Prof to be recruited

Agartala: September 01. Tripura government has taken a slew of decisions in the cabinet meeting including hike in honorarium of Special Police Officers (SPO). Addressing a press conference, ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that in the state cabinet has decided to increase the salary of SPOs.  He said that 3,911 SPOs of the state used to get monthly honorarium of Rs 6,156.

 As a result of the decision to increase the salary in the cabinet meeting today, they will get a monthly salary of Rs 7,079. In a press conference, the Minister said that it was decided to increase the salary of SPOs who are working as drivers in the Cabinet meeting. As a result, 266 SPOs working as drivers will get a monthly honorarium of Rs 9,000. Their increased pay will be effective from October. The Minister said that in the cabinet meeting, it was decided to appoint 6 assistant professors at Tripura Institute of Technology at Narsingar. These posts will be filled through TPSC.

He also said that it has been decided to give one-time financial assistance to the best 5 Divyangjan students of this year’s secondary and higher secondary examinations. Among the Divyangjan students, the first 5 best students in the secondary examination will be given a one-time prize of Rs 24, 000 and the first 5 best students in the higher secondary examination will be given a one-time prize of Rs 54,000.
