Agartala, 11th March 2024: Power Minister, Ratan Lal Nath, declared on Monday that the state government has initiated several measures to enhance electricity services in the region, incorporating advanced technology for power distribution in rural areas.
The announcement came during the inauguration of the 33/11 KV power substation at Birchandramanu in the Shantirbazar subdivision under the South District.
“As part of the comprehensive state development strategy, the government has implemented various measures to improve electricity services. Utilizing advanced technologies, such as constructing new power substations and extending power lines, is a key focus to bring electricity to rural areas,” stated Minister Nath.
He underscored that the overall development plan of the state is closely linked to the improvement of electricity services, with the government placing special emphasis on their enhancement.
Minister Nath also revealed plans to incorporate state-of-the-art equipment to boost power generation up to 120 MW at the Rukhiya Thermal Power Plant in Sepahijala District. Furthermore, initiatives are underway to provide electricity connections to 150,000 families in the rural areas of the state.
