‘Gram Diwas’ a step to provide govt schemes among people: Deputy CM

Agartala: November 29. Deputy Chief Minister jishnu Dev Varma today said that the government has decided to deliver the government projects among the people of the village through the celebration of Gram Diwas at the panchayat level and to provide assistance by giving all suggestions regarding the government schemes.

Deputy Chief Minister today inaugurated the ‘Gram Diwas’ program organized at North Charilam Panchayat ground.

Also present were Charilam Panchayat Samiti member Rajkumar Debnath, Headmaster Manimoy Bhowmik, Charilam Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Rakhi Das Kar, Social Worker Shyamal Debnath and others. Local artists performed music and dance on the occasion.

The Deputy Chief Minister presented the award to 50 citizens of North Charilam Gram Panchayat. Apart from this, the Deputy Chief Minister announced the distribution of prizes to the winners of the sit and draw competition, and felicitated the secondary and higher secondary students of North Charilam Gram Panchayat area.

The Deputy Chief Minister said, “We do any auspicious work with the blessings of elders so today the elders are welcomed. No matter how great a doctor or engineer one is, one has to be responsible for their village. This soil has reformed us. Everyone should work for motherland. The government has arranged to deliver the government projects to the people of the village through the celebration of Gram Diwas at the panchayat level and to provide assistance by giving all suggestions regarding the government projects”.

He said, “This government is work with people’s suggestions. Therefore, from officers to public representatives, everyone is working on the ground instead of sitting in the office”.
