Agartala, July 30, 2023: Sepahijala district level Guru Purnima festival was held on Sunday at Machima Community Hall of Sonamura subdivision. This festival is organized under the initiative of Sepahijala District ICA Office.
Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik inaugurated the festival. Sepahijala Zilla Parishad Saha-Sabhadipati Pintu Aich, Mohanbhog Block Panchayat Samiti Chairman Sribhas Bhowmik, Kathalia Block Panchayat Samiti Standing Committee President Bindu Debnath etc. were present as other guests on the occasion. Kathalia Block Panchayat Samiti Chairman Pushpa Bhowmik Debnath presided over the event.
Inaugurating the festival, Bhoumik said, Gurus or teachers are the guides of the society. They lead the society from darkness to light. Maniklal Das, SDM of Sonamura sub-division, Buddhist monk K Bhikshu, eminent guru Sukumar Debnath Vaishnab among others spoke on the occasion.
Sipahijala District ICA Office’s Deputy Director Panchali Debbarma delivered the welcome speech. 22 religious gurus and teachers from different parts of Sepahijala district are felicitated in this district wise Guru Purnima festival. Students of different schools performed dance and music on the occasion.
