Head-On Collision in Charilam Leaves 10 Injured, One Critical

Agartala, 26th March 2026:  A serious road accident shook the Charilam area after a head-on collision between a passenger auto-rickshaw and a Maruti car near the petrol pump adjacent to Charilam Higher Secondary School. A total of 10 people were injured in the incident, with one reported to be in critical condition.

According to local sources, the accident occurred when both vehicles, allegedly moving at high speed, collided suddenly. The impact left several passengers from both the auto and the car injured, some of them severely. One individual sustained particularly serious injuries.

Residents quickly alerted the fire department, whose personnel arrived at the scene and rescued the injured. They were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

Police also reached the spot soon after being informed and have begun investigating the cause of the accident. Traffic in the area was disrupted for some time following the incident.

Notably, locals have expressed growing concern over the increasing number of road accidents in the area in recent times.
