Agartala, 26th March 2026:   In a major push for labor rights and educational reform, the All Tripura School Computer Shikshak Sangha (ATSCTA) organized its first biennial state conference today at the Muktadhara Auditorium here.

Affiliated with the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), the gathering brought together over a thousand Information and Communication Technology (ICT) instructors from across the state to address long-standing professional grievances and formalize their organizational structure.

The conference, presided over by State President Bhabesh Chakraborty highlighted the critical challenges faced by the approximately 1,079 ICT instructors currently serving in Tripura’s government and government-aided schools. Central to the association’s agenda is the demand for computer education to be recognized as a mandatory, graded subject for students from Class VII to XII. Beyond curriculum reform, the leadership issued a stern call for job regularization and the transition of teachers from contractual, third-party agency roles to permanent government positions under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) framework.

Throughout the morning session, BMS leaders, including district secretaries, were seen providing strategic guidance to the newly formed teachers’ wing. Attendees, many draped in the signature saffron sashes of the BMS, engaged in sessions focused on ensuring service security beyond the imminent March 31 deadline. “We have approached the government multiple times,” Chakraborty stated, emphasizing that the conference serves as a final consolidation of their demands before a scheduled meeting with state officials.

As the session concluded with the process to elect the first formal State Executive Committee for the 2026–2028 term, the atmosphere remained one of focused determination. The association maintains that regularizing salaries and improving working conditions is not merely a labor issue, but a necessity for the “social stability” and educational progress of Tripura.
