Agartala, 26th March 2026: Two students narrowly escaped serious injury after a section of plaster from the ceiling collapsed inside the boys’ hostel of the Veterinary College at R.K. Nagar.
According to reports, the hostel building was constructed just a year ago. On Wednesday evening, while the students were inside their room, a portion of the ceiling plaster suddenly gave way. The incident left them shaken, though they sustained only minor injuries.
The collapse has raised sharp questions about the quality of construction. Students expressed anger that such damage could occur within such a short time of the building’s completion. They have demanded an immediate investigation and urgent repair work to ensure safety in the hostel premises.
