Agartala, 17th May 2025: A devastating fire broke out this afternoon at the residence of Haradhan Majumdar in the Gachbaria (Maichhara) area under Belonia police station, completely gutting the house and causing damage worth lakh of rupee. According to sources, the fire was triggered by a suspected gas cylinder explosion.
The flames spread rapidly, engulfing the entire house before the fire brigade could arrive at the scene. Local residents and family members immediately alerted the fire service, but the fire had already intensified beyond control.
Despite frantic efforts by the locals and firefighting personnel, the inferno reduced the house to ashes. No casualties have been reported so far, but the property loss is estimated to be substantial.Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
