Agartala, 31st October 2025: A special human rights awareness programme was held today at Unakoti Kalakshetra in Kailashahar, organized by ‘The Creation Society’. The event aimed to foster greater understanding of human rights among students and the general public.
The programme was inaugurated by Justice Arindam Lodh, who served as the chief guest. Other dignitaries in attendance included Kailashahar Municipal Council Chairperson Chapala Rani Debroy, retired District and Sessions Judge Udit Chowdhury, and Human Rights Commission member Dhan Babu Reang (IAS).
In his keynote address, Justice Lodh highlighted the ongoing violations of human rights in contemporary society, citing child marriage as a pressing example. “Despite government efforts to curb child marriage, the desired outcomes remain elusive,” he said. “When a young girl becomes a mother at an early age, her rights to life, health, and education are all compromised. Child marriage is a clear violation of human rights.”
Speakers throughout the event emphasized the importance of upholding human rights, the responsibilities of citizens, and the need to establish justice in society. The programme’s core objective was to raise awareness and encourage active civic engagement in protecting fundamental rights.
