Agartala, 11th May 2026: As part of the ongoing seven-day National Service Scheme (NSS) Special Camp, Khudiram Bose English Medium School organized a humanitarian cloth distribution programme on the fourth day of the camp.
NSS Programme Officer Punam Roy Sarkar personally handed over clothes to underprivileged and needy members of society, embodying the NSS motto “Not Me But You.” Student volunteers actively participated in the initiative, which aimed to spread the message of service and compassion by standing beside marginalized communities.
The special camp was inaugurated earlier by MP Rajib Bhattacharjee. Social worker Arindam Choudhury attended as guest of honour, while the event was presided over by school principal Samir Ranjan Das. Teachers, volunteers, and local dignitaries were present at the school premises, where beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude to the NSS Unit and school authorities.
The camp has featured diverse activities across its days: On the second day, DSP (Traffic) Manoranjan Debbarma and Fire Service Officer Haradhan Debnath discussed road safety and fire prevention measures. On the third day, social worker Manoj Roy joined as chief guest, with Rabindra Jayanti celebrations and a tree plantation drive marking the occasion. And on the fourth day, yoga expert Nandita Banik, along with physical education teacher Rita Ghosh Banik, highlighted the benefits of yoga before the cloth distribution programme concluded the day’s events.
Since its commencement on May 7, the NSS Special Camp has undertaken a series of social service initiatives, awareness drives, cleanliness programmes, and humanitarian activities, reinforcing the spirit of community welfare and volunteerism.
