Agartala, 7th June 2026: Odisha cadre IAS officer Dhiman Chakma, a native of Tripura, has been reinstated in government service and posted as Deputy Secretary in the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, nearly a year after being suspended in connection with a bribery case.
A 2021-batch IAS officer, Chakma was serving as Sub-Collector of Dharmagarh in Odisha’s Kalahandi district when he was arrested by Odisha Vigilance officials on June 8, 2025. Investigators had alleged that he was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh at his official residence.
