Past governments drained blood, not donated : Kishor Barman

Date:

Agartala, 7th June 2026:    The Tripura Rajya Karmachari Sangha, Nalchar Unit, organized a blood donation camp at the Dashmighat Community Hall under Nalchar Assembly Constituency on Sunday. The event was inaugurated by State Higher Education Minister Kishor Barman, who, without naming, sharply criticized the previous government, alleging that it had exploited the poor and government employees.

The minister remarked, “In the past, blood was not donated, it was drained. The poor were exploited, and employees were subjected to harassment.” He further alleged that officers in government offices had no voice, as clerks aligned with ruling party organizations dominated the system. Employees, he said, were often forced to pay levies or threatened with transfers, reflecting the exploitative practices of the earlier regime.

The camp was attended by Sepahijala Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Supriya Das Dutta, Nalchar Block Panchayat Samiti Chairman Swapan Kumar Das, and several other dignitaries. Alongside the blood donation drive, a health camp was also conducted, drawing participation from organizational workers across the subdivision as well as local residents who availed themselves of medical services.

Organizers reported that nearly 100 donors voluntarily contributed blood during the camp, marking a significant step toward community welfare and healthcare support.
