ICFAI University hold International Day of PWD at Bamutia RD Block

Agartala, 4th December 2023:   The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is observed every year on December 03. To commemorate the day, the  Special Education Department of the ICFAI University Tripura in collaboration with Foundation 3H organized a program  at Bamutia  BDO Office on December 01 last.

The program was inaugurated by Dr Saptaparni Majumder, Bamutia Block Development Officer, Shila Das, Chairperson of Bamutia Panchayet Samiti and Ktrishnadhan Das, Social Worker respectively as Guest.

The main objective of celebrating the Day was to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities at every level of society and development, and to raise awareness of the situation of “Divyang” in all aspects of political, social, economic, and cultural life. Various cultural activities like song, Drama, Games for the special Children and their parents etc were organized. 

Besides the program, an Exhibition on Teaching Learning Materials and 3D communication books for the special children was also organized as a part of awareness. The program ended with prize distribution to all Special children and the Parents those who won various games.

The whole programme was coordinated by Dr Silali Banerjee, Principal of Faculty of Special Education of the University and other faculty members & students.
