Agartala, 4th May 2024: The ICFAI University Tripura is poised to commemorate two decades of excellence in professional education on June 15, 2024. Established in 2004 through the ICFAI University, Tripura Act 2004, the institution has been a beacon of higher learning, recognized by the UGC under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, and accredited by the NAAC since November 30, 2018.
In a press conference at Agartala Press Club on Saturday evening, the Vice-Chancellor Prof Biplab Halder highlighted the University’s recognition by various statutory bodies, including UGC, NCTE, BCI, RCI, TNC, and DSWSE of the Government of Tripura.
The University has made significant strides in offering contemporary education infused with soft skills and life skills, catering to around 6000 students across 59 diverse programs. These range from Engineering and Technology to Liberal Arts and Allied Health Sciences, reflecting the institution’s commitment to multidisciplinary learning.
This academic year, the University introduced four new high-demand professional programs: BA-Yoga, B.Sc-Yoga, MHA, and PGDYT, further expanding its educational repertoire.
The “N J Yasaswy Memorial Merit Scholarship” is one of the University’s initiatives to foster academic excellence, offering merit-based scholarships and facilitating access to state and central government funding opportunities.
The University boasts a dynamic faculty, with members hailing from prestigious institutions like IITs, NITs, and National Law Universities, contributing to a robust research and consultancy environment.
With a strong placement cell, the University has consistently achieved impressive placements, collaborating with top companies and guiding students through its Career Development Centre.
The institution has also earned notable rankings, including the 5th rank for Outstanding Excellence among Engineering Colleges in India by GHRDC Ranking 2024, and recognition by prominent ranking organizations like INDIA TODAY MDRA and OUTLOOK INDIA.
The 32-acre campus, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and a TRUE 5G network, is a testament to the University’s dedication to providing a conducive learning environment. With ongoing expansion plans, the ICFAI University Tripura continues to set benchmarks in higher education.
