IGNOU Agartala moving towards a student-friendly teaching-learning environment

Agartala, July 29, 2022: In an online meeting of the Coordinators and Programme In-charge of IGNOU Study Center and Programme Study Centre on July 24, the recent initiative of IGNOU Agartala towards creating a student friendly environment in the IGNOU Study Centres and Programmes Study Centres to cater the academic needs of the students were discussed and pledged to be implemented.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Arobindo Mahto, Regional Director, IGNOU Agartala and attended by Coordinators and Programme In-charges of the 14 active Study Centres and Programme Study Centres. Discussion were held towards creating a student friendly environment in the Learner Support Centres Study Centres by adopting IGNOU’s Technical know-how in the teaching learning process in dissemination of information to its learners by extensive use of available resources. The Study Centres or Programme Study Centres will now be equipped with a dedicated student helpdesk, soft and hard copy of IGNOU Prospectus, Prominent display of new courses being offered by the University in the current and upcoming sessions, email IDs of Coordinators, Programme In-charges including that of relevant divisions of IGNOU HQ New Delhi and IGNOU Regional Centre, Agartala office. For quick access to different portals of IGNOU like admission, assignment downloads, re-registration, study materials, results etc QR codes will be prominently displayed in the Study Centres so that the learner can login to the desired page with ease. The learners will be well informed about the online counseling schedules, monthly interactive radio counseling schedule, practicals, project and viva-voce and Term-End Exam so that distance is not a barrier in the teaching learning process. Further to this IGNOU HQ and Regional Centre, Agartala keep on updating its learners through their face book, twitter and instagram pages.

Dr. Arobindo Mahato, Regional Director, IGNOU, Agartala requested all the Study Centres/Programme Study Centres to reach IGNOU Students through Social Media/Online platform to resolve their academic issues. Every Study Centre will organize online grievance redressal camp in sequential manner for quick address to the student problems. In the meeting it has been appraised to all that the admission for July 2022 is ending on 31 July 2022 and students can enroll themselves in the Online and ODL Programme of their choice through the online link https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in Fee exemption is admissible in certain selected Programme for SC/ST students.
