Agartala, 20th February 2024 :  Jishnu Dev Varma, former Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura, vehemently criticized the CPIM and Congress on Tuesday, accusing them of marginalizing indigenous communities under the guise of development.

Addressing a gathering at a joining program in Padmanagar Village Council No. 44, where more than 136 voters switched allegiance to the BJP from various opposition parties, Dev Varma underscored the BJP’s dedication to genuine politics centered on the welfare and progress of the people.

“We are committed to authentic politics, focused on advancing the interests and development of our citizens. Unlike some other parties that thrive on creating disruptions, blocking roads, and staging protests, the BJP prioritizes problem-solving and constructive engagement. Sustainable development cannot thrive amidst perpetual unrest; we must collectively seek solutions,” remarked Dev Varma.

He emphasized the discernment of the electorate, acknowledging that while mistakes might occur, they are not naive.

“People have witnessed the progress made in Charilam Assembly Constituency over the past year. It is the duty of elected representatives to address the needs of the people and resolve their issues. However, the absence of MLAs in village councils has not gone unnoticed. Every individual aspires for the betterment of their community and the prosperity of future generations. Indigenous communities have endured prolonged suppression during the reign of CPIM and Congress, but the BJP is actively striving to rectify these injustices, while others exploit these issues for political gain. Unity is imperative for societal and state development. The lack thereof only exacerbates existing challenges,” he added.
