Agartala, 18th June 2025:  A nine-month-old baby girl Anisa Nath was seriously injured after a e-rickshaw (locally called tuk-tuk) struck her mother in Mission Tilla area in Dharmanagar on yesterday late evening. The child fell from her mother’s arms and sustained facial injuries.

Locals responded quickly and helped rush the baby to North Tripura District Hospital at Dharmanagar. Due to the lack of adequate pediatric facilities, doctors referred her to Agartala’s GB Hospital for advanced treatment.

The father, a daily wage laborer said he could not identify the tuk-tuk involved. The incident has raised fresh concerns over emergency medical infrastructure in North Tripura.
