Agartala: June 25. The ruling ally IPFT has decided to hold Delhi Abhiyan demanding Tipraland and high modality committee report.
IPFT spokesperson Amit Debbarma addressing a press conference sources said that an important meeting of the IPFT Executive Committee and its affiliates was held on June 23. “Party President Prem Kumar Reang presided over the meeting. In the meeting, it was decided to visit Delhi on August 23 on the issues related to Tipraland and High Level Modality Committee report”, he said.
He said, 150 to 200 workers will go to Delhi and would sit on a dharna for a day demanding Tipraland at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. He also said that the recent movement of Kokborok language in Roman script and the demand for its solution were discussed.
“A memorandum copy comprising the demands was handed over to the Chief Minister on Saturday to find a permanent solution to this issue. The chief minister has been told that since the Kokborok language has already been recognized in the state, this rule should allow writing Kokborok in Roman script”, he said.
He further said that the Chief Minister was very happy after the meeting. “He assured that he would find a way to solve it permanently”, he said.
