Jatrapur Police recover accident vehicle after two-day search

Agartala, 1st September 2026 :  Jatrapur police have successfully recovered a vehicle involved in a road accident after nearly two days of investigation, using modern technology to trace its movements.

The accident took place around 2:10 pm on August 29 in the Baghaiyachar area. The vehicle, bearing registration number TR08A1669, reportedly belongs to Laltila resident Liton Majumder. Two motorcycle-borne persons, Prasenjit Bhowmik and Montu Ranjan Singha of Kusamara, were travelling towards Sonamura when the accident took place. The driver allegedly fled the spot immediately after the incident.

Following the report, Jatrapur police launched an investigation and examined various leads while using technological tools to track the vehicle. On August 31, the vehicle was finally located and recovered from the Laltila area.

SI Bijoy Chakraborty led the investigation, assisted by Jatrapur Police Station OC Partha Nath Bhowmik, ASI Tapan Debnath and other police personnel.

Meanwhile, the two injured persons are undergoing treatment at GB Hospital, where their condition is reported to be critical. The recovery has been described as a significant success for Jatrapur police.
