Agartala, 14th March 2024:  In a scathing critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) nominees for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Tripura, CPIM state secretary and MLA Jitendra Chaudhury raised concerns over their lack of familiarity with the local culture and language of Tiprasa.

Speaking at a rally jointly organized by DYFI and TYF against youth unemployment and addiction, Chaudhury targeted Kriti Singh, the BJP’s nominee for the East Tripura Lok Sabha seat, highlighting her inability to speak the Kokborok language or understand the essence of the state.

He further lambasted Biplab Kumar Deb, the BJP’s nominee for the West Tripura Lok Sabha seat, accusing him of fostering a quasi-fascist environment during his tenure as Chief Minister and alleging the BJP’s complicity in corruption. Chaudhury demanded clarity from the BJP’s national president JP Nadda regarding Deb’s removal from the chief ministerial position earlier, emphasizing the need for transparency ahead of the elections.

Chaudhury rallied party workers, asserting that the upcoming elections present an opportunity to combat corruption and dismantle the BJP’s grip on power in Tripura. He urged the people to reject the BJP and its allies, Tipra Motha and IPFT, emphasizing the importance of unity in achieving their goals.

Echoing Chaudhury’s sentiments, Politburo member Manik Sarkar urged party workers to play an active role in unseating the BJP from power. The rally, preceded by a procession from Paradise Chowmuhani, highlighted the growing discontent among Tripura’s populace towards the BJP’s governance and its nominees for the Lok Sabha seats.
