Agartala, 9th July 2026: A joint field inspection was conducted at Barpathari, Tekka Tulshi, Dakshin Sonaichari and Muhuripur in South Tripura to assess road safety concerns and identify measures to reduce accidents.
The inspection was led by the District Magistrate and Collector of South Tripura, along with the Additional Superintendent of Police, the DCM of Belonia, and officials of the National Highways (NH) Department. The team examined the condition of roads, inspected accident-prone and vulnerable stretches, and reviewed other road safety issues requiring immediate attention.
Officials discussed various corrective and preventive measures, including improvements to road infrastructure and enhanced safety interventions at critical locations.
Following the field visit, a Road Safety Meeting was held at the Office of the District Magistrate and Collector in Belonia. Officials from the concerned line departments participated in the meeting and deliberated on the issues identified during the inspection.
The meeting emphasized strengthening coordination among departments and ensuring the timely implementation of road safety measures to improve traffic management and provide safer travel for commuters across South Tripura.
