Journalist Recreation Club reconstitutes executive committee at Agartala Press Club

Agartala, 28th September 2024:   Journalist Recreation Club (JRC) has successfully reconstituted its Executive Committee, which will serve a two-year term until 2026. In an election held during the club’s Annual General Conference at the Agartala Press Club, key positions were filled through unanimous selection.

Suprabhat Debnath has been elected as President, with Kiriti Datta and Anirban Deb serving as Vice-Presidents. Abhishek Dey was chosen as General Secretary, while Abhishek Debbarma will take on the role of Assistant Secretary. The position of Treasurer went to Meghdhan Deb, with the remaining executive committee comprising members Prasenjit Saha, Bapan Das, Pranab Shil, Subrata Debnath, Mridul Chakraborty and Jakir Hossain.

The conference was held on Saturday noon featured a detailed presentation of the club’s annual reports. General Secretary Abhishek Dey presented his editorial report, and Treasurer Meghdhan Deb provided the annual income-expenditure accounts. Both reports were discussed by the attending members and eventually accepted via a voice vote.

A lively discussion followed with contributions from steering committee members including Jakir Hossain, Prasenjit Saha, Dibyendu Dey, Bishnupada Banik, Miltan Dhar and others. Protem President Abhishek Debbarma nominated to oversee the meeting announced the formation of the new executive committee through a democratic election process.

Several constructive proposals raised by members were also approved for immediate implementation. Club President Suprabhat Debnath expressed his gratitude to all members and sponsors, acknowledging their support during the meeting. General Secretary Abhishek Dey also conveyed his appreciation, thanking everyone involved in making the event a success.
