Journalists’ children felicitated by Agartala Press Club for academic success

Agartala, 13th June 2026:   The Agartala Press Club on Saturday organized a special felicitation ceremony to honor students from journalists’ families who successfully cleared their Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examinations. The programme was held at the Press Club hall, where Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder attended as the chief guest.

A total of 15 students from families associated with the journalism profession were felicitated this year. Through this initiative, the Agartala Press Club recognized the achievements of the children of journalists, who continue to serve society through a challenging and responsible profession.

During the ceremony, dignitaries honored the successful students by presenting them with the Press Club’s traditional ceremonial scarf (uttariya), mementos, and tokens of appreciation. The event reflected the Press Club’s commitment to encouraging and motivating the next generation.

Addressing the gathering, Mayor Dipak Majumder congratulated the students and encouraged them to pursue their future goals with dedication. He urged them to contribute not only to their personal growth but also to the development of the state and the nation.

Agartala Press Club President Pranab Sarkar and Vice-President Chitra Roy also addressed the programme, highlighting the importance of education and the achievements of the students. Secretary Ramakanta Dey delivered the welcome address.

Speaking on the occasion, members of the journalistic fraternity noted that journalists play an important role in shaping society, and the academic success of their children brings pride to both their families and the entire media community.

The felicitation programme was conducted in a warm and cordial atmosphere, with parents, members of the Press Club’s governing committee, and journalists from both senior and younger generations attending the event.
