Agartala, 30th June 2025:  In a vibrant display of environmental stewardship, the Agartala Press Club today organized a tree plantation drive that brought together journalists across generations. The event took place in the park adjacent to the Press Club premises, underscoring the fraternity’s ongoing commitment to ecological awareness.

Veteran journalist and editor Subal Kumar Dey inaugurated the programme in presence of former Press Club President Jayanta Bhattacharyajee, current President Pranab Sarkar, Vice President Chitra Roy and members of the club’s management committee.

Participants actively planted saplings as a gesture of their collective dedication to environmental protection, a message the Agartala Press Club consistently promotes through various media and awareness initiatives throughout the year.

The event was a reaffirmation of the Club’s belief in the power of community action for sustainable change. The management committee extended heartfelt gratitude to all participants who contributed to the green effort.

Press Club’s Secretary Ramakanta Dey informed this in a press communiqué today.
