Agartala, 17th October 2025:   A special task force known as the jumbo team conducted a late-night raid on the residence of nationalist figure Mon in Murabari, adjacent to the Bishalgarh SDM office, triggering widespread commotion in the area.

During the operation, authorities also raided another location in the same vicinity, seizing an illegal sawmill, several tree logs, and a vehicle suspected to be used for timber transport.

Notably, police and forest officials had previously dismantled a similar sawmill at the same site just days ago. However, sources indicate that the operation resumed shortly after, allegedly under the protection of influential individuals.

Mon reportedly fled the scene during the raid. Meanwhile, Jewel Ahmed, a co-accused in the same case, was arrested by police late last night. On Friday afternoon, Bishalgarh police produced Ahmed before the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s Court in Bishalgarh for further legal proceedings.
