Kailashahar immersed in Durga Puja festivities across communities

Agartala, 24th September 2025 :  As autumn arrives, the spirit of Durga Puja sweeps through Kailashahar, transcending barriers of caste and creed. The season brings with it the quintessential symbols of Bengali festivity blue skies, cotton-like clouds, and fields swaying with kashful, heralding the arrival of the goddess. From bustling towns to quiet villages, the entire region is united in celebration.

Local clubs and puja committees have crafted unique pandals, each reflecting distinct themes and artistic flair. Visitors are gearing up for pandal-hopping, eager to experience the vibrant tapestry of lights, music, and devotion.

Srirampur Sanghati Sarbojanin Durga Puja Committee holding the largest celebration in the state this year, the committee enters its eighth year with a ₹60 lakh budget. The pandal, themed on Vrindavan’s Prem Mandir, is being built by Kolkata artisans, while idols are sculpted by renowned artists Satyapal and Satyen Pal from Nabadwip. Agartala-based lighting experts will create a dynamic display with color changes every four seconds. Special initiatives include delivering prasad to senior citizens and daily community meals. Cultural programs feature Rimsha Dev on Navami and Bollywood-Tollywood singer Lopamudra Samant on Ekadashi. The inauguration will be led by Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha.

Kazirgaon Pratyay social organization celebrating its eighth year with a Rs 15 lakh budget, this puja adopts the theme “Operation Sindoor.” The pandal is crafted by Mithun Banik from Udaipur, with idols by local artist Samar Das. Events include a sit-and-draw competition and health camp on Mahalaya.

Venus Club in its 53rd year, the club has allocated Rs 22 lakh. Pandal and idol work are led by Ratan Pal and Subrata Pal from Nabadwip. Daily prasad distribution and a cultural event on Dashami are planned.

Yubasamaj Club marking 49 years with an Rs 8 lakh budget, the club’s pandal is designed by Mohit Lal Dhar, with idols by Satyapal and Satyen Pal. Lighting is managed by Uttam Das, and community meals will be served for three days.

Paiturbazar Durga Puja Committee celebrating its 75th year with a Rs 12 lakh budget, the committee offers daily meals and cultural programs. Special activities include tree plantation, blood donation, art contests, and helmet distribution.

Nabajagrat Club in its 56th year, the club has a Rs 12 lakh budget. Pandal by Debdas Sinha and idols by Satyapal and Satyen Pal. Baul music will be performed on Ekadashi.

Tapas Palli Sarbojanin Durga Puja Committee now in its 23rd year with a ₹4 lakh budget, the pandal is by Bhargab Dutta and idols by local artists. Daily meals and cultural events are scheduled, along with the release of their 22nd annual souvenir.

Shakti Sangha celebrating 63 years with a Rs ₹4 lakh budget, the pandal is by Debdas Sinha and idols by Banti Pal. Meals will be served on Ashtami and Mahaprasad on Navami.

Central Road Puja Committee in its 12th year with a Rs 5 lakh budget, the theme is “Imaginary Temple.” Local artists are crafting both the pandal and idols, with meals served for three days.

Netaji Memorial Club entering its 54th year with a Rs 6 lakh budget, the theme is “Childhood Trapped in Mobile Screens.” Pandal by Pal Decorators and idols by Banti Sarkar. Meals and Mahaprasad will be distributed across the festive days.

Each club has embraced a unique identity some focusing on spiritual themes like Vrindavan’s Prem Mandir, others promoting social awareness. From celebrity nights to grassroots initiatives like prasad distribution and health camps, Kailashahar’s Durga Puja is a mosaic of tradition, creativity, and community spirit.

As fields bloom with kashful and the air fills with anticipation, visitors embark on their puja journeys, soaking in the artistry, devotion, and festive joy that define this vibrant celebration.
