Agartala, 27th May 2025: The admission process for Class XI at Khudiram Basu English Medium School located on Jail Road in the capital city has sparked significant controversy with allegations of irregularities and fraud emerging. The situation escalated further when a media person was reportedly attacked while gathering information on the matter.
Journalist of SYANDAN TV Bishnupada Banik was assaulted by two teachers of the school.
Eyewitnesses at the scene claimed that two teachers attempted to seize the media personnel’s mobile phone during the coverage, leading to an altercation in which the device was damaged. The incident led to heightened tension among journalists and concerned parents, who were already distressed over the lack of transparency in the admission process.
Parents have alleged that the school administration has failed to maintain clarity regarding admission procedures, causing immense anxiety among students and guardians alike. Many have expressed frustration over the uncertainty surrounding the selection criteria.
“We are not getting any clear information about the admission. On top of this, the attack on journalists has made us even more worried. It is hard to think that a teacher could do such a thing,” said one concerned parent.
Despite repeated inquiries, the school authorities have not commented on the allegations. Meanwhile, both the media persons and affected parents are demanding a thorough investigation into the matter. They have called for accountability and action against those responsible for the alleged misconduct.
