Female worker’s body recovered from brick kiln at Laltila, Khowai; Husband and son-in-law arrested

Agartala, 27th May 2025:     The body of a female worker was recovered from a brick kiln at Laltila in Khowai creating unrest in the area. Authorities responded swiftly, with police, forensic experts and a dog squad reaching the site for investigation.

The deceased identified as 37-year-old Manju Munda had been working at the brick kiln for an extended period. Her home was located in Dhalabil Munda slum. According to sources, her body was found early this morning prompting immediate action from law enforcement.

Manju’s sister has alleged that her husband and son-in-law are responsible for her death. She claims that Manju confided in her just a day before, stating that she had been severely beaten by the two men. Acting on the complaint, police have detained both individuals and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

The forensic team is expected to conduct a thorough examination of the scene, while authorities are gathering evidence to determine the exact cause of death.
