Agartala, 23rd July 2026: Higher Education and Panchayat Minister Kishor Barman attended the two-day national review meeting on PM-POSHAN and Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan held on July 22 and 23 at the Bharat Ratna C. Subramaniam Auditorium, IARI, Pusa, New Delhi. The meeting was chaired by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and brought together representatives from states and Union Territories to assess the progress of key school education and nutrition programmes.
Addressing the media after the meeting, Barman said extensive deliberations were held on strengthening the implementation of PM-POSHAN and Samagra Shiksha, with a focus on improving the quality of education, enhancing child nutrition, boosting school attendance, and achieving the objective of universal education across the country.
During the discussions, the minister presented Tripura’s achievements, experiences, and initiatives in the education sector. He also shared several suggestions and proposals aimed at further improving the state’s education system and ensuring the overall development of school students. According to him, the meeting served as an important platform for exchanging ideas and learning from the best practices adopted by different states.
Reiterating the state government’s commitment to educational reforms, Barman said Tripura would continue to work towards creating a healthy, well-nourished, and educated generation, contributing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ through inclusive and quality education.
