Kunal Ghosh Granted Bail by Gomati District Court in 2021 Case

Agartala, 11th May 2026:  Kunal Ghosh, a senior leader of the All India Trinamool Congress, was granted bail by the District and Sessions Court of Gomati district on Monday in connection with an old case linked to a speech delivered in Agartala in 2021. According to his lawyer, Kunal Ghosh had addressed a public rally of the Trinamool Congress in Agartala on October 31, 2021.

 Following the event, a complainant lodged a case at R.K. Pur Police Station alleging that certain remarks made during the speech had hurt his religious sentiments. After completing the investigation, police submitted a charge sheet before the court. Subsequently, Kunal Ghosh moved the District and Sessions Court in Gomati district seeking bail in the matter. The bail plea came up for hearing on Monday, during which Kunal Ghosh personally appeared before the court. The court granted his bail application, his lawyer confirmed.
