KVK Dhalai conducts training programmes on Scientific Groundnut Cultivation

Agartala, 22nd March 2025:   In a significant step towards enhancing agricultural productivity, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Dhalai has successfully organized multiple training programmes on “Scientific Groundnut Cultivation Practices” across various locations in the Dhalai district. These programmes aimed at increasing groundnut production and raising awareness among farmers about modern farming techniques.

The training sessions covered crucial aspects of groundnut farming, including soil health management, selection of high-yielding varieties, optimum sowing techniques, water conservation strategies, and integrated pest management. Experts from KVK Dhalai provided hands-on demonstrations and interactive discussions to ensure practical learning for the participants.

Farmers from different villages actively participated in these sessions, showing keen interest in adopting scientific farming methods. Many attendees shared their experiences and expressed confidence in implementing the newly learned techniques to improve their yield and income.

Speaking on the initiative, an official from KVK Dhalai emphasized, “Empowering farmers with scientific knowledge is crucial for sustainable agricultural growth. These training programmes will help farmers enhance productivity, reduce losses, and improve profitability.”

The programmes also stressed the importance of post-harvest management and market linkage to ensure better economic returns for groundnut farmers. KVK Dhalai aims to continue its efforts in conducting similar training programmes in the future, addressing various crops and agricultural challenges.
