Agartala, July 08, 2023: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Sepahijala, CAU(I) organized a 3-day Millet recipe contest at three different blocks covering Bishalgarh, Jampuijala, and Charilam, Sepahijala district, Tripura from July 05 to July 07.
The programme was conducted with an aim to create awareness on important benefits of millets, to find out the indigenous knowledge of cooking recipe, processing of millets and creative food based conservation. These programmes were attended by 75 numbers of farm women and SHG group.
During the programme various traditional millet recipe viz Maisui Bangui, Maisui ni awan (peetha), Kheer, Maisui songjak, Maisui ladoo, Maisui chutney etc were showcased by the participants.
The millet recipes were judged by panels comprising School Headmaster, Village chief, Panchayat Chairman and SMS KVK, Sepahijala, CAU(I) Tripura of the selected blocks. Based on the scoring of the judges winners are selected and awarded with price and certificate.
