KVK Sepahijala holds Swachhta Hi Sewa Campaign 2026

Agartala, 4th  October 2026 . Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Sepahijala, under Central Agricultural University (CAU-I), successfully observed the Swachhta Hi Sewa Campaign 2026 from September 17 to October 1, followed by Swachh Bharat Diwas on October 2. The campaign was organised around the theme “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat”, with the objective of promoting cleanliness, hygiene and active community participation.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr Anupam Mishra, Vice-Chancellor, CAU, Imphal, with technical support from Dr A.K. Mohanty, Director, ATARI, Zone-VII, Umiam, Meghalaya; Prof. Ng. Iboyaima Singh, Director of Extension Education, CAU-I, Manipur; and Prof. Arun Bhai Patel, Dean, College of Fisheries, CAU-I, Lembucherra, Tripura.

The campaign was implemented under the overall supervision of Dr Shatabhisa Sarkar, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK Sepahijala, and headed by Nungleppam Monica, Subject Matter Specialist (Food Processing Engineering), and Pijush Debbarma, Programme Assistant.

The initiative commenced with a Swachhata pledge at the KVK office, followed by a series of awareness and cleanliness activities. An awareness programme, quiz competition and local sports activities were organised at Gagan Sardar Para JB School, involving students and teachers.

Cleaning drives were subsequently conducted at several locations, including offices, educational institutions and tourist destinations. The campaign also recognised the efforts of sanitation workers, with Safai Mitras felicitated for their contribution towards maintaining a cleaner and healthier environment.

The observance concluded on October 2 with a cleanliness drive at the KVK office premises. Students, teachers, members of self-help groups, sanitation workers, office staff and local community members participated enthusiastically throughout the campaign.

The programme helped reinforce the message of “Clean India, Green India and Prosperous India”, while encouraging collective responsibility for cleanliness and environmental well-being across Sepahijala district.
