Agartala, 4th October 2026 : A man sustained serious bullet injuries in a shooting incident in a border area under Gandacherra police station, triggering tension in the locality.
The injured person has been identified as Kunj Mohan Tripura. According to local sources, the incident took place on Saturday afternoon in an area close to the international border.
Kunj Mohan was reportedly found in an injured and bleeding condition following the incident. He was initially taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and was later referred to Agartala’s GBP Hospital for advanced medical care. He is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear. It is yet to be established how Kunj Mohan sustained the bullet injuries or whether he was specifically targeted. The identity of the person or persons allegedly responsible is also yet to be ascertained.
Police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and initiated a preliminary investigation. Officials are examining the circumstances leading to the shooting and are trying to determine the motive and identify those involved.
