Agartala, 6th December 2025:    A joint operation by the subdivision administration and district police led to the recovery of a huge quantity of illegal goods late last night. Acting on a tip-off, Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Sepahijala Superintendent of Police Vijay Debbarma ordered the raid.

According to intelligence inputs, a warehouse near UCO Bank in Madhupur market had been stocked with goods allegedly meant for smuggling into Bangladesh. Following the directive, a team from the subdivision administration and district police raided the warehouse owned by Rakesh Debnath.

During the operation, officials seized several sacks of rice along with a large consignment of cosmetic products. Sources in the administration confirmed that the items had been illegally stored with the intention of cross-border smuggling.

As the goods lacked valid documentation, the warehouse was sealed on the spot. Authorities have launched an investigation to identify those involved in the racket. Officials further stated that the valuation of the seized materials is currently underway.
