BY TC News Desk

Agartala, 29th March 2025:   Acting on a secret tip-off, Bishalgarh Police successfully intercepted a smuggling attempt, recovering a large quantity of fireworks at Karuimura Bazar this afternoon. The contraband was being transported in a DI vehicle bearing registration number TR07D1587. The driver and co-driver identified as MD Loban and Al Amin Mia respectively were arrested on the spot.

The operation was led by Bishalgarh Police Station Officer Kapil Pal, with Sub-division Police Officer Dulal Datta later joining the proceedings at the station. According to sources, the suspects could not provide valid documents for the vehicle or the fireworks during the seizure.

Preliminary investigations suggest a smuggling network operating out of the Murabari area in Bishalagarh with the fireworks allegedly destined for Bangladesh. Miscreants even attempted to intercept the seized vehicle while it was en route to the police station. The confiscated fireworks have been valued at approximately Rs 5 lakh.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident and the broader smuggling network.
