LDC employees under Mid-Day-meal scheme places deputation demanding hike in salary

Agartala Jan 11:  27 contractual employees, Lower Division Clerk, under Mid-day-meal (PM-Poshan) scheme placed deputation to the Director of Elementary Education here on Wednesday demanding hike in salary.

Speaking to the reporters, one of the agitating Clerks, Kishore Majumder said, “With a meagre salary of Rs 15,262 after 11 years of service of being appointed in November 2012, we are finding hard to feed our families in a situation where prices of essential commodities are on rise”.

“We therefore demand the state government and the concerned authorities to look into our issue in a humanitarian attitude and hike our salaries as the earliest”, he added.

The delegation of LDC contractual employees further complained that other employees of similar category inducted in various other schemes are received higher salaries than that of the Mid-Day-Meal, LDC employees.They demanded salary as per LDC scale of the state government. ‘
