Agartala, February 24, 2023: Without mentioning the name of Bharatiya Janata Party, former Chief Minister and incumbent leader of opposition Manik Sarkar on Friday said that those who harm the people and try to act as if they are successful, but in the end they were defeated.

If people can unite, it is not impossible for people to separate, defeat and destroy them. So the people of the state are trying to turn around, Opposition leader Manik Sarkar said while speaking at the memorial meeting of former MLA Radharaman Debnath at Shanitala Ramakrishna Sangh in Mohanpur on Friday.

Paying respect to the late Radharaman Debnath at the memorial meeting, the leader of the opposition party said in reference to the transition from the current situation, the votes have come, the votes have been cast. There will be victory, there will be defeat. Some will form the government, some will play the role of the opposition. But that is not the end. The condition of the country is very bad. And if it is bad in the country, how will it be good in the state?

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving the people of Tripura an opportunity to campaign for the Nagaland elections. But it does not fill people’s stomachs. People learn from their life experiences. So people have to take role to come out of the current situation. But it will not work if you bow your head. People have endured a lot, how much more will you endure? After five years in Mohanpur today, the Left is able to stand up and hold a program”, Opposition leader Manik Sarkar said that it should be continued.

He also said that there is a lot to learn from Radharaman Debnath. Debnath has taught people how to approach danger.

Sarkar told the workers that it will be possible to remove scars in people’s minds in the coming days. But on this day, he raised the issue of organizational weakness in Mohanpur. He said that efforts are being made to build unity in Mohanpur. It would be a mistake to think that all of these are successful. There are various organizational weaknesses and deficiencies. The opposition leader Sarkar opined that if these complications can be overcome, there will be true respect for Radharaman Debnath.

Former minister Manik Dey, Mohanpur divisional committee secretary Pranab Debbarma, former MP Shankar Prasad Datta, Krishna Rakshit, Rabindra Debbarma and others were also present in the organized memorial meeting. They all paid their respects by placing wreaths at the portrait of late Radharaman Debnath.
