Agartala, 15th September 2025: The Lions Club of Agartala Anish, under Lions International District 322G (2025–2026), launched a noteworthy initiative ‘Empowering Women Through Skill Development’ in collaboration with Phoenix Pro Academy, where 5 underprivileged girls have been sponsored by the club to undergo free beautician training.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Lion Pankaj Poddar, District Governor, along with Lion Ruchira Chatterjee, District Chairperson (Employment Generation), who jointly launched the program.This initiative focuses on providing underprivileged women with access to skill-based training, thereby opening new avenues for sustainable employment and financial independence. By bridging the gap between opportunity and capability, the Lions Club of Agartala Anish aims to uplift women and empower families across the community.
Speaking at the event, Lion leaders emphasized the importance of skill development in transforming lives and reiterated their commitment to fostering women empowerment as a core pillar of Lionism.
The program was hosted at Phoenix Pro Academy, Northgate, Agartala, Tripura West, and marked a progressive step towards building an inclusive and empowered society. The members Present during the program was Lion Biswajit Banik (President), Lion Sajal Kr. Paul (Zone Chairperson), Lion Avijit Roy, Lion Rupasri Paul, Lions Samudrika Datta (Program Chairperson), Lion Siddhant Baid & Lion Ajay Poddar (District Global Membership Team Chairperson).
