Agartala, October 29, 2023: Tensions flared in Ramnagar as a woman sustained a leg injury amid a series of incidents concerning young individuals. Following this incident, irate locals gathered at the Ramnagar police outpost to protest the alleged unjust arrest of a youth on fabricated charges. The accused individuals at the area of the controversy have been identified as Ramesh Harijan, Bishal Harijan, Rohit Harijan, and Bikash Harijan, with community members uniting against what they describe as a quartet of troublemakers.

Residents claim that these individuals, known locally as the “Samadros,” have been entangled in the web of drug addiction and have resorted to violence and intimidation against the community. Allegedly, the group has been involved in various altercations with local residents, leaving victims in their wake. Priyanka Harijan, a woman from the area, is said to have been a victim of physical assault that resulted in a broken leg. Additionally, a young man was reportedly subjected to severe beatings.

In response to these events, local residents converged on the Ramnagar police outpost to voice their displeasure. However, they were met with an unexpected turn of events as the police, instead of assisting the injured youth, chose to place him in the lockup. This move further fueled the community’s anger.

Local residents have expressed their concerns about the accused individuals’ longstanding misconduct in the area. They also claim that the quartet has persistently targeted the young man’s family in connection with an incident involving a girl. The community is now demanding a fair and impartial investigation into these incidents.
