Agartala, 14th October 2024: A shocking incident took place on Monday morning when a TSR jawan named Phulkumar Debnath was booked by local residents in Gokulsardar Para of Kanchanmala. The jawan is hailing from the Gorkhabasti area of Agartala city was caught in a compromising situation with a widow from Gandhigram.
According to sources, Debnath had brought the widow to the home of Shyamal Das, located in Gokulsardar Para under suspicious circumstances. Neighbors reported that the duo is allegedly intoxicated and were indulging in inappropriate activities inside Das’ house. The widow was introduced by Debnath as “Boudi,” a colloquial term for sister-in-law, further raising suspicion among locals.
Upon witnessing the incident, outraged residents intervened, capturing both Debnath and the widow red-handed. Reports suggest that the locals administered a form of justice, expressing their frustration and anger at the scene.
Sources revealed that Debnath is married with children, while the widow also has two children. This information heightened the public’s reaction, as news of the incident spread rapidly throughout the area. The presence of children in both households only deepened the community’s dismay.
Local residents quickly informed the Amtali police station. Officers responded promptly and took both individuals into custody. A resident expressed the community’s concern, stating, “The society is being stigmatized by such disgraceful acts. This kind of behavior will not be tolerated in our area.”
The police are currently investigating the matter, and further legal action is expected to follow.
