Agartala, 20th June 2025: Tension flared along the Udaipur-Chhanban National Highway this afternoon after residents booked two youths allegedly involved in drug peddling and shaved their heads before handing them over to the police.
According to eyewitnesses, the two suspects had reportedly been frequenting the area to sell narcotics, raising alarm among local residents. Determined to curb the alleged activity, a group of vigilant locals reportedly kept watch and confronted the duo when they returned to the highway stretch around noon.
After detaining them, the residents tonsured both men as a form of public shaming before alerting authorities. Law enforcement arrived shortly after and took the suspects into custody for further investigation.
