Longtharai Power, TSECL ink MoU for 45 crore solar power project in Tripura

Agartala, 21st July 2026:   In a major boost to Tripura’s renewable energy ambitions, Longtharai Power Private Limited has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) for the development of a solar power plant in the state. The agreement was signed during the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026.

The proposed project, involving an investment of ₹45 crore, is aimed at expanding the state’s renewable energy capacity while promoting sustainable infrastructure and supporting economic growth. The initiative is expected to play a key role in increasing the use of clean energy and reducing dependence on conventional power sources.

According to the company, the solar power project will contribute to the generation of renewable electricity, help lower carbon emissions, and strengthen environmental sustainability. It is also expected to create employment opportunities for local residents and enhance Tripura’s energy security by adding clean power to the state’s electricity network.

Longtharai Power said the project reflects its long-term commitment to advancing green energy solutions and supporting Tripura’s development goals. The company also expressed its intention to work in close coordination with the Government of Tripura, TSECL, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of the project.

The MoU marks another significant investment proposal emerging from the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026, highlighting the state’s growing focus on attracting investments in renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure. Once implemented, the project is expected to contribute to Tripura’s transition towards a cleaner, greener, and more resilient energy future.
