Agartala, 21st July 2026: Amid a rise in theft incidents across Agartala city, police have arrested a suspected thief in connection with multiple cases of theft.
According to the police, a person named Ejaz Ahmed had lodged a complaint at the M.C.C. Police Station regarding a theft. Acting on the complaint, police launched an investigation and detained a suspect from the Khejur Bagan-Kathaltali area.
The arrested person has been identified as Babul Roy, who is allegedly involved in several theft cases reported in Agartala city. Police produced him before the court on Tuesday.
The police have started further investigation to find out whether more people are involved in the theft racket. During the operation, police also recovered several AC wires from the possession of the accused.
