On Sunday morning, a team led by Srinagar police station OC Dilip Debbarma successfully rescued the accused and the two girls, bringing them back to the Srinagar police station.

OC Dilip Debbarma addressed reporters on Sunday evening, emphasizing the ongoing vigorous interrogation of Jhuton Malakar. The accused will face legal proceedings and is scheduled to appear before the West District Sessions and Judge Court on Monday.
