Agartala, 27th December 2025: A massive fire broke out late last night in the Kolsi Bazar and Shyam Sundar areas of Jolaibari, triggering panic across the locality. Reports confirmed that fires erupted simultaneously at two different locations.
According to sources, local residents noticed huge flames rising from the affected areas and immediately alerted the Jolaibari Fire Service. Considering the seriousness of the situation, the Shantir Bazar Fire Service was also rushed to the spot. Multiple fire tenders worked for several hours before the blaze was finally brought under control.
Meanwhile, the fire completely gutted two houses and several shops in the Kolsi Bazar area. Due to the intensity of the flames, furniture and valuable goods inside the shops were reduced to ashes. However, as per the latest reports, no casualties have been reported in the incident.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Police reached the spot and have launched an investigation. Authorities stated that the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are being assessed.
