Agartala, 7th December 2025:   A massive fire broke out once again at the Debendra Chandra Nagar dumping station late last night, leaving the entire area engulfed in thick smoke. The blaze, which started in piles of garbage, has continued for more than 24 hours and remains uncontrolled as of this evening.

Two fire engines have been deployed continuously to douse the flames, but despite their efforts, the fire has not yet been brought under control. The exact cause of the incident is still unknown, and authorities have not confirmed whether it was accidental or deliberate.

Station Supervisor Suman Debbarma told reporters that if the fire is not contained soon, there could be significant damage. He emphasized the urgency of the situation, noting that the firefighting teams are working relentlessly but facing challenges due to the scale of the blaze and the nature of the waste materials.

This is not the first time the dumping station has witnessed such a disaster, raising concerns about fire safety and waste management in the area.
