Agartala, 6th March 2026: A shocking incident of domestic violence has come to light from Harishnagar Munda Para in the Kamalasagar area, where a man allegedly beat his wife to death in front of their two children. The accused has been identified as Lakshminadhar Munda, while the deceased housewife has been identified as Moni Munda (Rote).
According to local sources, the accused began assaulting his wife on Thursday afternoon. Neighbours reportedly tried several times to intervene and stop the violence, but their efforts failed to calm the situation. It is alleged that Lakshminadhar continued to torture his wife late into the night.
Residents claim that during the night, the accused brutally beat Moni Munda with a piece of wood. The horrifying assault reportedly took place in front of the couple’s two children. As a result of the prolonged beating throughout the night, the woman sustained severe injuries.
On Friday morning, neighbours found Lakshminadhar sitting beside his wife’s lifeless body, creating panic and outrage in the locality. After being informed, police from Bishalgarh Police Station rushed to the scene.The police arrested the accused husband and took him into custody. The body of the deceased was recovered and sent for post-mortem examination.Local residents alleged that Lakshminadhar Munda frequently assaulted his wife, and ongoing family disputes may have led to this tragic incident. Police have launched a detailed investigation into the matter.
